I will, totally, support green codes.
I do not however believe that mandatory green-roofs will ever get on a ballot or in the building codes.
What we need (like you brought up) is a serious tax incentive/rebate plan for green-roofs for both Residential and Commercial.
Wouldn’t it cool to water a green-roof from a rainwater collection system on the same building?
I think we will see the day when all new buildings will be required to have a certain percentage of green integrations, technologic (panels water heaters, ventilation) and/or passive systems (like green-roofs, skylights, rain collectors). Let’s hope it’s soon.
As for us, we will build a straw-bale home, off the grid,… with more dogs.

No. I'm from the United States. In the United States we came up with this new invention called freedom. Freedom means if you want your house covered with weeds go right ahead, but don't force me to cover my house with weeds.

Yes, and I'm happy my state already does. Anything that will increase energy efficiency, water efficiency or air quality would get my vote. Many people think it will increase the cost of a home, but over the life of the home most of these things will save the home owner money.

I would definitely support it, particularly if it’s inexpensive additions, like green rooftops.

Laws enforcing building with geothermal technology, yes. However, I don’t know if I agree with creating laws requiring green rooftops. I think that is more of a personal preference.

Yes, there should be some kind of encouragement for planing building and implementing: solar panels, geothermal heating pumps, wind turbines,..ex’.
I do not know if it should be with "tax free projects" or subsidizing or by setting a governmental offices jest for those projects….
In any case it should be done (!)
